Dance Works is a family owned and operated business that is committed to providing an economical, family friendly dance experience.  We opened in February of 2001 with 50 students and have now grown to 300 students.  We cater to beginner thru advanced, tots thru adult, and recreational thru competitive.  In 2002, we built a 3,600 square foot facility on Central Park.  In 2013, we outgrew our Central Park space and built a 7,200 square foot facility just around the corner, at 2705 Hickory Grove Road.  We have 4 large dance rooms with marley sprung dance floors, a large lobby, dance shoe store, and a homework & dinner space for our students.  Our staff is highly trained and always excited to help your child achieve their goals.  Our 3 year old classes are limited to 12 students with 1 lead teacher & 3 classroom assistants.  Four year old classes are limited to 14 students with 1 lead teacher & 3 classroom assistants.  Our dance combo classes & pom/hip hop classes, ages 5 & above, are limited to 14 students with 1 lead teacher & 2-3 classroom assistants.  Dance combo classes perform in our informal holiday show and both dance combo & pom/hip hop classes perform in our annual formal June recital.   Our competitive teams have won numerous regional and national awards; including a NDA, UDA, DX, DTU & Contest of Champions National Championships. Be sure to read our mission statement found on our home page.  We look forward to you joining our dance family!  Wish It, Dream It, Dance It!

Owner, Laura, was a preschool teacher and preschool director for nearly 30 years before retiring to free up time to spend at Dance Works.  When not working in the front office at Dance Works or helping teachers in the dance classrooms, you can find her spending time with her beloved grandchildren, family and dogs.

Owner, Larry, has over 40 years in business and sales.  When not working in the front office at Dance Works, you would find him working an additional full time job at CMT Highway, LLC or spending time coaching or watching baseball.

Owner/Director, Lisa, has over 25 years experience in teaching dance. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in special education; certifications with Dance & Gym USA and YPAD and has participated in numerous continuing dance education programs and dance teacher trainings. Lisa develops all class curriculum for our staff to follow so that each age group is receiving the same set of skills to learn and to best help the development of the whole child.

Our ballet technique and pointe staff are current and/or retired professional ballerinas.

Our many other adult staff all have 10+ years of teaching experience, many also work in schools as teachers or teachers assistants by day.

We also have older high school aged staff who have spent 4+ years training in our assistant program and have a desire to pursue college dance and/or college degrees that involve early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, pediatric OT or PT.  They are gaining experience as lead teachers in our classrooms under supervision and direction of our owner/director and other staff.
